Course Description: Use of media in education and training. Includes the production of media and instructional materials in print, video, computer-bases and multimedia formats. The Big Project!
CTE-302: Principles of Career and Technical Education (2 cr.)
Course Description: Philosophy, organization and administration of career and technical education, nationwide, in Wisconsin and on the local level.
CTE-343: Performance Analysis (3 cr.)
Course Description: Analysis techniques utilized in curriculum development. Emphasis on task analysis and related procedures. Includes occupational and needs analysis, competency identification, objective writing and information mapping. Integrates task analysis with a total system for developing and revising career and technical education curriculum or job training programs.
CTE-405: Methods of Teaching Career and Technical Education (2 cr.)
Course Description: Competency-based and individualized approach to methods of teaching career and technical education.

MEDIA-710: Learning Technologies (3 cr.)
Course Description: Overview and selection criteria of instructor-led, computer-based, and distance learning systems for delivering content to trainees in the workplace. Includes the development of training materials in a variety of formats. Instructor's consent required. Computer literacy required.
EDUC-760: E-Learning for Educators (3 cr.)
Course Description: Historical background and current trends in online learning. Concepts and foundations of best practices for successful teaching online. E-learning theory, principles, learning management systems, and web-based technology tools. The Big Project!
EDUC-761: Creating Collaborative Communities in E-Learning (3 cr.)
Course Description: This course is for K-12 educators, technical college and community college instructors, university instructors, curriculum consultants, and corporate trainers who want to become highly qualified in facilitating online learning in hybrid or fully online courses. Vibrant online learning communities encourage motivated independent learners. This course demonstrates the dynamics of facilitated synchronous and asynchronous discussion. Course participants will actively facilitate questioning skills, conflict resolution, netiquette, and collaborative learning through problem-based scenarios, simulations, and hands-on practice moderating online discussions. EDUC-763 Instructional Design for E-Learning (3 cr.)
Course Description: Learn how to create online courses that work efficiently. Understanding instructional design models and learning theories will help you shape a learning experience that reflects standard pedagogies and best practices. The course also addresses hybrid learning environments, multimedia instructional strategies and effective evaluation of online course design.
