Quick Reference #1: Sending email from D2L

You can easily send an email to the instructor(s) or a fellow student(s) by following the few
simple steps below.


1.  Once you are logged into the course you will see a link on the right hand side of the
screen that says “Email.”  Once you have located the link, click on it to open the email
page.

2.  Now that the email page is open, you have two options for adding recipients.  You could
(A) search for the recipient in the course address book or (B) you could type the email
address directly into the appropriate field (Note: the address book will only contain
students enrolled in this section of this course.  Please see Quick Reference #2: Using the
Address Book for further detail. )

3.  Now, type your message into the box provided. (Note: you could also use the HTML
editor.  Please see Tip Sheet #3: Using the HTML Editor for further detail.)

4.  If you need to add an attachment, click on Browse button to locate the file.  Then click the
Add button. (Note: to remove the attachment, simply click “Remove” next to the
appropriate attachment.)

5.  Proof read your posting to ensure everything is correct.  If everything looks good, click the
“Send” button and you are done.
